A man with a contingency plan

2003-02-14 / 12:34 p.m.

Last night's plan was to go to the Ruth Bader Ginsburg lecture at GSU with Brian, but this was not our fate. (Using the word 'fate' always makes things sound so much more dramatic) Traffic and distance prevented Brian from arriving on time, and he would have needed to be here rather early, taking atlanta traffic and the lethargy of Marta into consideration. Lucky for me, Brian is boyscoutishly prepared, and has other ideas.

We ended up seeing "cidade de deus" or "City of God". As one might expect from a film about gang/drug wars in Rio, it was pretty violent, but well done. It had interesting characters, and the plot was presented in a way that was interesting to watch...kind of chronologically non-linear, if that makes any sense. So the evening was good anyway.

Nothing else really notable going on, just trying to get psyched up for a weekend with a lot of homework. Ciao.
